You can do your best work only when you're protected with the right safety footwear from G&L Clothing.
Who needs to wear protective footwear?
A number of industries are required by OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.136 to wear protective footwear while on the job. If your workplace environment is a place in which you may encounter slipping, falling objects, piercing objects, or other hazardous conditions, you're probably required by law to wear safety footwear.
What does protective footwear do?
The right protective footwear will keep your feet and the rest of your body safe from a number of possible workplace hazards:
- falling or flying objects
- punctures from sharp objects on the ground
- machines or tools that can become cutting hazards
- electrical environments that may produce dangerous shocks or accumulated electricity
- fatigue-inducing work environments and/or conditions
- workplaces where chemicals are used and can cause burns
- extreme weather conditions
How do I know what workboot is right?
Often times your employer will specify what type of protective footwear you need based on the potential working conditions. In the end, though, it's up to you to decide what footwear will be best, as long as it meets the OSHA guidelines. Different types of safety footwear include:
- waterproof design
- slip-resistant design
- various levels of insulation
- steel toe or soft toe design
- various levels of shoe material thickness
